Nourish the COW’s

Economic systems contain elements that are economic nourishment for the system. There are also elements that are “antinomic”, toxic to the system. Simply put, antinomic elements devalue money. The “COW’s”, Consumers, Owners, and Workers, need valuable money, or they become economically incapable. The economic COW’s sicken, or die.

Economics is the cooperation of many for the purpose of efficiency and safety. Economic forces increase the value of money as long as antinomic forces devalue it less. Planting a crop is an economic force. Allowing the soil to erode is an antinomic force that devalues the crop, and every crop thereafter.

Since cooperative effort generates extra value. Who should be the recipient of the extra value? Who should decide? The answers to those questions determine whether an economy is healthy. Once in an antinomic spiral, economies have historically become increasingly less economic. They are “antinomies,” with decreasing value, and a bleak future.

Economic progress has no end. It is food for the future. Antinomic digression is toxic to the COW’s. It devalues our inheritance, our efforts, and the legacy that we pass on to future generations. Economic progress is how we increase the value of our humanity.
